When you become a member, you qualify for several benefits you can receive throughout the year. Your membership donation helps our organization to:
  • Keep BOOKMARKS Annual Festival of Books FREE to everyone
  • Bring authors into schools to help promote the importance of reading
  • Attract state, regional, and nationally acclaimed authors in all genres
  • Provide people of all ages with unforgettable reading, writing, and literary experiences
  • Promote literacy at the BOOKMARKS Festival of Books, in schools, and in our community
  • Present top authors at our "Conversations With" events throughout the year
  • Make a difference in the lives of more than 10,000 people who are touched by BOOKMARKS each year!

About Us
BOOKMARKS is a nonprofit organization which offers literary experiences celebrating books and authors in and around Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our largest -and most visible - literary experience is our annual BOOKMARKS Festival of Books which takes place on the second Saturday of September. 

To help spread the importance of reading and writing throughout the year, we work to bring authors into schools, retirement homes, and hospitals in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Some of our authors we have hosted over the years include: Geraldine Brooks, Billy Collins, Elizabeth Gilbert, Jan Karon, Garrison Keillor, Sue Monk Kidd, Greg Mortenson, Cokie Roberts, and Lisa See. 

We recently celebrated our 7th Annual Festival of Books in the Downtown Arts District of Winston-Salem on Saturday, September 10th, where we had over 7,000 people enjoy the free festival. To learn more, please visit the About BOOKMARKS page.

Renewing Your Membership
If you are already a member of BOOKMARKS and would like to either renew your membership or change your membership level, please follow the instructions below.

1. On the left side of the screen you will see a place to log in. Log in (if you haven't already done so) with your email address and password. If this is your first time logging in, simply enter your email address and click "forgot password" to set a new password.
2. Once you are logged in, you will see your name on the left side of the screen. Click on "View Profile" beneath your name.
3. You should see this image:

You can either change your membership level or renew your membership by clicking on either button.
4. If you would rather not pay online with a credit card, you may still pay by check. Please call or email us if you have any questions. Contact BOOKMARKS
