Book Launch Celebration Featuring Penelope Niven and Jennifer Niven

This free event will feature Jennifer Niven and Penelope Niven as they celebrate the release of their new books.
Jennifer is the author of the just released
Becoming Clementine
, the third book in the Velva Jean series.
Penelope Niven has just completed
Thornton Wilder: A Life
, which will be released at the end of October.
Both will give readings from their books, followed by a presentation by award-winning actress, Rosemary Harris, who will read from Wilder's plays and novels.
Dr. Edwin G. Wilson will serve as the master of ceremonies.

No reservations are required for this event. A book signing and reception will follow. Books will be available for purchase from WFU Bookstore.

resident Penelope Niven is the author of critically acclaimed biographies of poet Carl Sandburg and photographer Edward Steichen. Her books also include

, co-authored with the actor James Earl Jones;

Jennifer Niven received her MFA in screenwriting from the American Film Institute. Her books include
The Ice Master, Ada Blackjack, Velva Jean Learns to Drive,

Aqua-Net Diaries:
Big Hair, Big Dreams, Small Town,
which has been optioned by Warner Brothers as a television series (which Jennifer is writing).
She has received global recognition for her first book,
The Ice Master
which has been nominated for awards by the American Library Association and Book Sense, and received Italy's esteemed Gambrinus Giuseppe Mazzotti Prize. Jennifer's second book in the Velva Jean Series is titled
Velva Jean Learns to Fly.
